Certified Chimney Sweeping
When your chimney is doing its job correctly, it’s carrying the byproducts of combustion (gases, small particles of debris) up and out of your home. But as the heated air and gases move through the comparatively cooler flue, condensation occurs, creating a deposit called creosote that gradually builds up in your chimney. Creosote deposits are commonplace, but they’re also dangerous, since creosote is highly combustible. The general rule of thumb is: an accumulation of over 1/8 inch of soot or creosote is hazardous.
The best and most consistent way to make sure creosote isn’t creating a dangerous environment in your chimney system, is to have your chimney professionally swept by experienced, CSIA-certified chimney sweeps. All Chim Cheree technicians are certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA) and the National Fireplace Institute (NFI), and are trained to remove chimney deposits thoroughly and safely, leaving absolutely no mess in your home.
When Chim Cheree, The Chimney Specialists’ technicians come to your home for a chimney sweeping appointment, you’re getting more than just a clean chimney. All sweepings include a Level 1 chimney inspection, which can help alert you to any problems hiding in your chimney system. We’ll examine your entire system for defects and give you tips on how to burn more efficiently. We’ll also provide you with before and after photographs of the chimney, to let you see the difference our sweeping has made.

In most cases, the whole process takes from an hour to an hour and a half.
Some Tips To Help You Prepare For Your Appointment:
To prepare for your appointment, hold off on using your chimney/having a fire for at least 24 hours before our arrival. It’s also helpful if breakables that are close to the work area — within six to eight feet — are moved somewhere safer.
